Macbeth

directed by Jessica Aimone

presented as part of the 2010 Capital Fringe Festival

When Shall We Three Meet Again?

A vivacious, heat-filled, capoeira-infused amalgamation of sex, ambition and pure adrenaline. The story of a man and woman who are tempted by the devil. An exciting reworking from Push/Pull Theater Company and an incredible cast of DC actors.

Reviews

We received a five-star, Pick of the Fringe rating from DC Theatre Scene. Reviewer Kate Mattingly writes, "Push/Pull Theater Company’s production of Macbeth is tight. ... It’s tight in a bare-bones way – cleverly using a minimal number of costume elements and props, and it’s tight, meaning cool. The show mixes Capoeria with Shakespeare to deliver a performance that is decidedly contemporary without butchering a text written in the first years of the 1600s." She describes the Weird Sisters as "creepy and conniving."

We are an Editor's Pick on the Washington Post's Going Out Guide. Critic Rebecca J. Ritzel described the production as "clever, lightning-quick and all about taking risks."
